 Haun Saussy

Haun Saussy is University Professor in the Department of East Asian Languages and Civilizations, the Committee on Social Thought, and the College.

Professor Saussy’s research focuses on literary theory; comparative study of oral traditions; problems of translation; Chinese poetry and philosophy; and the ethics of care in what is known (optimistically) as “global health." 
 
He is the author of Partner to the Poor: A Paul Farmer Reader; Translation as Citation: Zhuangzi Inside Out; The Making of Barbarians: China in Multilingual Asia; Great Walls of Discourse and Other Adventures in Cultural China, and other books.
