Adam Saxton

Adam Saxton is a Doctoral Candidate in Political Science at the University of Chicago, where his research focuses on international law, security studies, and foreign policy. His work examines how states use international law strategically in times of war and crisis, how they are in turn are shaped by the rules of the international system. His work brings together historical case studies, legal analysis, and archival methods, with broader interests in the use of force, conflict escalation, intelligence, and international order.

Before beginning graduate school, Adam worked at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C., where he contributed to policy research on U.S. military force structure, national security strategy, and industrial mobilization.
